Oamaru Backpackers does not offer a grace period because all bookings are confirmed instantly, and we prepare rooms and assign beds right after each reservation. Last-minute changes or cancellations directly affect our small team’s operations and other guests’ availability. For fairness and smooth management, all bookings follow the stated cancellation policy without exceptions. So please choose your booking dates carefully.

We reserve the right to charge you at any time prior to check-in. If applicable, a refund will be issued. No cash or pay on arrival accepted as no front desk. Payment must be made in full prior check in to activate PIN or your booking will be cancelled without refund or compensation. *NO breakfast in any room rates. 

We no longer have front desk but have Goki smart lock system in place. So you can do flexible self check-in anytimes from 3pm and self check-out at 10am. Once booked, you will get PIN (key) and room directions sent to your email on your arrival day. Once arrived, simply find the PIN, come in and that’s it! Or alternatively download Goki application to use your smartphone as a key if you’d like. 🙂
